The World Education Medals, founded by HP Inc., recognise individuals sparking change through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). They honour those innovating to improve education and society. By providing them with a global platform and a community of like-minded changemakers, the Medals celebrate and elevate people shaping the future of learning through responsible and impactful AI. The World Education Medals comprise three categories: the Leader Medal, the Educator Medal, and the Student Medal. For each one, a winner, termed a Medalist, will be selected. The 2025 World Education Medals are facilitated by T4 Education on behalf of HP Inc.
Anyone can apply or be nominated for a World Education Medal providing they meet the eligibility criteria. Nominations can be submitted by anyone who has enough information to complete the nomination form and can provide valid contact details to reach the nominee.
All nominations require the Nominee’s consent to be valid. We will contact the Nominee to confirm their participation before their nomination is accepted.
10th October 2025, at 23.59 GMT.
The World Education Medals are awarded to individuals only, not organisations. However, a person may be nominated for work they have done on behalf of an organisation.
Yes, you can nominate multiple candidates, even across different Medals, however, you need to submit one form for each individual you wish to nominate.
Different individuals can nominate the same candidate through different forms. However, the number of nominations for the same person has no bearing on the judging process. That being the case, we will pick the best submission for that individual based on the quality and clarity of information to assess the candidate against our criteria.
You may only submit a single application for yourself. If you submit more than one application, we will only consider the last submission and disregard the earlier ones. The number of applications has no bearing on the judging process.
All nominations must be submitted in English to be eligible for consideration. Please be aware that submissions in any other language will not be reviewed. While our assessment does not evaluate English proficiency, the clarity of your writing is essential for a thorough evaluation of your nomination.
No, the process is free of charge.
Nominees can enter any of the three World Education Medals: Leaders, Educators, or Students. Candidates must demonstrate how they are using AI in a clear, responsible, and ethical way to drive positive change. Their initiative must have been in use for at least six months, show real impact, and align with the purpose of the Medals — recognising individuals who are using AI to transform education or address real-world problems in ways that benefit learners, communities, or society at large. We also seek initiatives that are sustainable, embedded in practice, and capable of evolving over time. Nominees should demonstrate persistence, adaptability, and a long-term commitment to their AI-driven work.
If applying under the Student category, Nominees must be between 15 and 25 years old. For the Leaders and Educators category, Nominees must be 18 years or older.
We don’t require a particular type of relationship between Nominator and Nominee for a nomination, as long as the Nominator is able to share the nominee’s contact details and detailed information to make the nomination.
As a Nominator, you will be required to identify yourself when completing the nomination form. Nominations are accepted from individuals, either in a personal capacity or on behalf of an organisation supporting the candidate. You will also need to provide the Nominee’s personal data and contact details, including a valid email address. By submitting this information, you confirm that you have obtained the nominee’s consent to share their data with T4 Education for the purposes of this nomination. All personal data shared will be kept confidential in accordance with T4 Education’s Privacy Policy. Your contact information may be used by T4 Education in relation to this nomination process.
